In contrast to universities, the polytechnic school offers a range of certification, credential, and bachelor's degree programs but does not give graduate education like master's or Ph.D. Often students start their post-secondary education in a community college due to the apparent fewer admission standards, smaller classes, and reduced tuition before continuing to a polytechnic or institution to complete their diplomas.
