Answer:

According to the requirements for the 2021-2022 school year, eligible students must have at least a 3.00 GPA out of 4.00 on an unweighted scale. This is the requirement for the Florida Medallion Scholar (FMS) award, which is meant to cover 75% of tuition and fees per semester at a Florida public college or university. Additional requirements include:

  • At least 75 service hours
  • A score of 1210 on the SAT or 25 on the ACT
  • Completion of 16-credit hours (four each in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English, respectively)

Students looking to earn the award for Florid Academic Scholar (FAS) must have at least a 3.50 GPA, 100 service hours, an SAT score of 1330 or ACT score of 29, and competition of the same 16 credit hours as FMS awardees.

Requirements can change so it is important that you reach out to your school's financial aid department for specific details.
