The Honors College at Texas Tech University is for students that have demonstrated excellence during their academic careers. The Honors College forms a community of students and provides an opportunity to members to be among other students with a similar dedication to their education.
The Honors College is open to incoming first-year students, students who are continuing at Texas Tech and have excelled there, and transfer students with similar performances at their previous university.
Enrolling in the Honors College provides students with many advantages. There are opportunities to research and publish as an undergraduate , including getting paid to do so. Students in the Honors College learn in smaller-sized classes with distinguished professors. The small class size enables the classes to focus on discussion. Students will write an Honors thesis and graduate with the distinction of earning Highest Honors. They are eligible for early acceptance to medical and law school at Texas Tech.
Honors College students also have opportunities to study abroad. At home, they can take part in community service programs. If they live on-campus at Texas Tech, they are able to live in the Honors residence hall with fellow Honors College students.
