Answer:
Candidates aspiring to work as an immigration officer need to have a Bachelor's degree in any education field. It is more preferable to pursue a bachelor degree in the field of criminal justice, foreign language, accounting or any other relevant field. Getting master's degree or one year of postgraduate study makes the candidate eligible for high level positions. Having prior experience with the federal government may be considered as a relevant eligibility criterion. Apart from educational qualifications, aspiring immigration officers must have excellent communication skills, know a foreign language and familiarity with technology. According to Payscale, the median salary as in the year 2020 for all immigration officers was $59,810.
