George Washington University and American University offer four-year graphic design programs to perspective students in the Washington D.C area.
The Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design program. The BFA program consists of 120 credits. Students enrolled in this program will study in courses such as information design, publication design, branding, environmental design, motion graphics, web design, mobil apps, topography, and systems design. All programs at GW are regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). There is no special programmatic accreditation for the graphic design program.
American University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic and Visual Communication Design program. The program is 120 credits. Students enrolled in this program will study in courses such as visual communication design, digital and emerging media design, packaging design, principles of photography, and visual branding and design systems. AU and all its programs are regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. There is no special programmatic accreditation for the graphic design program.
