What classes do you need to take to become a paralegal?
Question:
What classes do you need to take to become a paralegal?

Answer:
To become a paralegal, you will most likely need to complete an associate's degree in paralegal studies or a bachelor's degree in another field accompanied by a certificate in paralegal studies. During these programs, paralegals will likely complete classes specific to the legal profession such as legal research and legal writing. In addition to that, most paralegals will need to take elective courses in international law, corporate law, or another category of law. Classes in these subject areas are helpful for paralegals to take even if they do not complete a degree at the end of it.
It is important to note that paralegal students usually take courses focused on legal theory than law school classes. This is because of the differences between the paralegal profession and the lawyer profession. With this, classes that teach "soft skills," like writing and public speaking, are important, although writing skills are typically more important for paralegals to focus on.
