Answer:
According to the National Academy of Sports Medicine, individuals who earn the NASM Nutrition Coach Certification are mostly working fitness professionals in the following roles:
- Personal trainers
- Group fitness instructors
- Strengths and conditioning coaches
Obtaining a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach (NASM-CNC) certification will give individuals knowledge and training that will help them devise strategies and design and deliver programs/lessons that combine nutrition and fitness training. These programs/lessons will help clients in attaining their fitness goals by providing them with various strategies (including proper nutrition, protein and weight loss management, supplements, etc.) to be followed in his/her daily life and fitness training.
The NASM-CNC certification costs $899 and may be completed between 6 to 12 weeks (on average) depending on the number of hours a week an individual devotes to the program. Materials for the program are all accessible 100% online. Certifications are valid for and must be renewed every two years.
