According to the National Center for College Statistics, the following three colleges and universities in Texas offer zoology programs:

  • Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas offers a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Sustainability, and Ecosystem Sciences which includes a concentration in Zoo Animal and Confined Wildlife Biology and Management.
  • Texas A&M University, College Station offers a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. Courses include deeper biological studies including biochemistry, chordate anatomy, animal physiology, principles of evolution, and invertebrate zoology. Texas A&M also offers a Master of Wildlife Science in Wildlife Science.
  • Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas currently offers a Bachelor of Science in Zoology but the program is being phased out as of August 2021. However, it also offers graduate programs, including both a master's and a doctoral degree, in Wildlife, Aquatic, and Wildlands Science and Management.
