However, the kind of programs that are offered in each setting will vary, and you will often see them referred to in their abbreviated forms. For example, the two main programs at medical school are a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or a DO program, and a Doctor of Medicine, or an MD program. There are also different specializations that doctors can study once they have graduated from one of these two, and those will also carry their own abbreviations. In terms of dental school, there are also typically two different programs that dental students will enroll in.
