Answer:

Penn Foster's paralegal program is not ABA-approved or accredited by it. Institutionally, the DEAC or the Distance Education Accrediting Commission accredits the college. Also, Penn Foster College is accredited by the Arizona State Board to offer Associate degrees in different courses, including Paralegal Studies, Medical Assistant, Veterinary Technician, and Interior Design.

The college offers only one paralegal program- an associate degree in paralegal studies, a 2-years course. One must complete the re-enrollment application separately for each semester. Students usually choose Penn Foster because it offers the program online. The tuition fee is up to $79 per credit for all semesters; the program has 66 credits overall. Also, $65 as a fee for each semester's shipping and handling will be charged. However, facilities like all study materials, unlimited student support, mobile-friendly coursework, interactive course content, etc., are included in the tuition. During the program, the students will learn about paralegal studies, legal research, writing, information literacy, ethics, legal terminology, family law, business environment, real estate law, and many more topics.

The ABA accreditation is a plus, but it is not an absolute necessity. There are some benefits of the accreditation as well. For example, the ABA accreditation is relevant and has strict and specific requirements for classroom hours and makes sure that universities offer a solid base of general education along with an emphasis on the law courses. Also, ABA guidelines make sure that the schools have enough finances to maintain their paralegal programs, such as staff, equipment, and funds.
