Rather, the university has received its accreditation from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). The association provides regional accreditation to the university and is recognized by the U.S. Department for Higher Education. The WSCUC accreditation ensures that the university fulfills the criteria to be qualified as per the required standards of the association and imparts a standard quality of facilities and education. The Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), which has the authority to give reviews on organizations for their educational standards, also recognizes the accrediting association of National University.
Programmatic accreditations taken by the university for its other Specialized Programs include Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), International Accreditation Commission for Systemic Therapy Education (IACSTE), and Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California.
