Is Grand Canyon University on a semester or quarter schedule?

Grand Canyon University's academic schedule depends upon whether students are enrolled in traditional on-campus or online degree programs. The traditional campus academic calendar includes a fall and spring semester. Each semester includes 15 weeks of instruction. The fall semester begins in September and ends in December. The spring semester begins in January and ends in April. GCU's online degree program offers 52 start dates throughout the year and rolling enrollment. Some online classes are synchronous, with students moving through the coursework as a group. These classes have designated start and end dates. However, most online classes are asynchronous rather than live, so students may complete work at their own pace. Nontraditional campus students have classes with many start date options. These courses tend not to follow either a semester or quarter schedule, but instead have many courses beginning at different times throughout the year.
