Answer:

According to the 2018 Census data, the average person earns nearly $2.7 million over his or her lifetime. The census data also shows us that the average American's income rises throughout their life until about retirement age when it plateaus. However, not everyone will hit that $2.7 million average, whereas others may even break the average. This will highly depend on what kind of job you decide to do in life, and how long you work in life. If you have a high paying job such as a Lawyer or Doctor or something in the Business and Finance field, then you can find yourself on a good path to making that $2.7 million. You do not have to have an advanced degree to hit the average though. There are other very high paying jobs that do not require higher levels of education such as jobs in construction and technical jobs dealing with electricity.

If you want to make a lifetime earning of $2.7 then you will want to stay out of the service industry as much as you can. Along with jobs like farming and fishing. These are all typically low paying careers.
