Question:
How much does an RN-licensed nurse make a year?
Perfect School Search
Answer:
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average salary for a registered nurse (RN) in the United States was $73,300 in 2019. RNs are required to have at least an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN or ADN), though many have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). RNs must be licensed by the state in which they practice and must maintain in good standing for the duration of their nursing career. RNs typically work in physician's office, hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes or rehabilitation centers. The role of an RN will differ, slightly, from state-to-state based on that state's board of nursing's scope-of-practice. This outlines what an RN can and cannot do in their role as a healthcare provider. There are more than 3 million registered nurses working in the United States and the profession is expected to grow more than 7% in the next decade. This is due to the increase in aging population and the demand for highly personalized, on demand healthcare.
