How much does a department store manager make?
Question:
How much does a department store manager make?
Perfect School Search
Answer:
According to PayScale, a manager of a retail department store can expect to earn between $34,000 and $72,000 a year, with a median annual salary of $49,000, as of October 2020. However, this does not include any bonuses, commission, profit sharing, or overtime earned, which can add up over a twelve month timeframe and make a significant difference on how much a department store manager actually takes home. With that being said, the level of experience of the store manager can also make a difference, as those with a least 10 years of experience will make several thousand dollars above the median salary, and managers with over 20 years of experience can earn at least ten thousand more. The location that they are working will also have a big impact, because different stores will pay their managers at different rates, but this can also fluctuate between cities and states too. For example, store managers in New York City and Los Angeles earned between 18% and 25% higher than the median annual salary.
