Answer:

According to PayScale, the chief executive officer (CEO) of a hospital will, on average, make around $153,000 a year, not including any additional bonuses or commissions. By comparison, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimated that the annual average salary for CEO's in the healthcare and social assistance industries was $166,410, which gives you an idea of what a typical wage is for that particular position. However, it is worth noting that these figures are both national averages, so they do not fully depict how much the salary of a hospital CEO can be impacted by the experience and education of the individual, along with the size of the hospital and which city and state it is in. The BLS does provide a salary scale for CEO's though, to give an idea of what the 10th and 90th percentiles were bringing in. The lowest 10% of all CEO's were making an average salary of $62,290 or less, whereas the highest earning CEO's brought in at least $208,000 a year, and sometimes even more.
