Answer:

For those using post-9/11 G.I. Bill benefits, the Monthly housing allowance (MHA) for for students exclusively in online courses with no classroom instruction is $916.50 for the period of August 1, 2020, through July 31, 2021. The rate is calculated based on the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) of an E-5 with dependents, calculated based on the zip code where the student physically attends classes. Rate increases are effective August 1 of the school year the student attends, and are paid based on the start date of classes. For example, a class starting on June 30, 2020 would be paid at the 2020 rate, not the 2021 rate, regardless of what the end date of the class was. If enrolled at less than full time, MHA decreases as a percentage of full time enrollment, to the nearest 10%, with students being required to take more than half the credits necessary for 50% of full time enrollment. A student enrolled at 58% would receive 60% of MHA, while one at 83% of full time enrollment would receive 80% of MHA.
