Most Bachelors of Art in Accounting degrees are 120 credit hours. The credit requirements are similar to a BS in Accounting instead of Business Administration the coursework is more focused on communication, language and speaking. However, if you want to be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), it is suggested that you take another 30 credit hours to study for the exam. The credit hours for a Bachelor's of Science and additional study classes for a CPA is 150 credit hours. Some states require 150 credit hours to take the CPA exam. The credit hours required for the CPA exam could be used to complete a Master's of Science in Accounting.
