Perfect School Search
Answer:
Majoring in mechanical engineering is similar to other fields. Typically, it takes four years to major in mechanical engineering. If you want to pursue a career in this field, you will just need to get a bachelor's degree. Once you complete your bachelor's program, you will be able to start practicing this occupation. There are also some five-year programs in mechanical engineer that offer both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. With a master's degree, you will be able to apply for higher job positions and be more independent. It is important that you look for a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Accredited programs provide the best education and training possible. After you get your degree, you will have to work for 4 years to apply for the Professional Engineer (PE) license.
