Perfect School Search
Answer:
A defensive driving certificate lasts up to 3 years. To obtain a defensive driving certificate, applicants must complete the course at their own pace and then must pass a test designed to reinforce the information from the course. Both the exam and the course can be done in-person at a recognized institute or online offered by organizations like Worksite Safety Compliance Centre. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion and you can repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved. The course explores the six components of defensive driving which are Space, Attitude, Foresight, Eyesight, and Responsibility (SAFER). Examples of the courses are driver competency model, most common collisions (following too close, backing, and intersections), fatigue, advanced driving (vision, ditch entry recovery, emergency braking, skid control, collision avoidance), complacency, and wildlife collisions.
