East Carolina University (ECU) offers rolling admissions. While there is no specific amount of time ECU promises to provide an admissions decision within, the admissions committee will review applications as soon as they are complete and try to get a decision to an applicant as soon as possible.

ECU suggests that students interested in applying for freshman admission to the university apply early since they receive more than 20,000 applications each year but can only admit about 4,200 students.

The following are the application deadlines for freshman admissions at ECU:

  • November 1, 2022: Applicants wishing to apply to the Honors College must have had their transcripts received by the admissions office by this date.
  • December 15, 2022: Applicants who want to be considered for merit-based ECU scholarships must have submitted a complete application for admission by this date.
  • April 1, 2023: This is the last day to be considered for freshman priority admission.
