The system of renewing paramedic licenses in the United States is different in each state. For Missouri, one needs to renew one's paramedic license every two years. The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services is responsible for licensing the Missouri paramedics under the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services banner. For the renewal of a paramedic license, one must only apply 30 days before the expiration date and other documents. These documents include proof of current ACLS certification, along with current certificates of Nationally Registered EMT Paramedic and the evidence of 144 hours of continuing education. Presently, applications for renewal of paramedic license are being accepted online, through email, or by mailing them to the Bureau of EMS in Jefferson City. Application forms are available on the online portal of the Department of Health and Senior Services. The applicant needs to select the EMS Personnel re-licensure application and put all the details asked. Licenses are issued electronically.
