To become a neurology physician assistant, you first need to attend an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA)-accredited physician assistant program. These programs generally take 2 to 3 years to complete and award a master's degree upon graduation. To apply for one of these programs, candidates need to complete an undergraduate education and a healthcare experience requirement. For most physician assistant programs, candidates complete 3 to 4 years of undergraduate programs. In fact, most applicants hold a bachelor's degree. Most of them also go through at least one year of healthcare experience before attending a physician assistant program. Once you complete your physician assistant program, you will have to earn certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). This will enable you to attend a postgraduate program in neurology to get specialized in this medical area.
