Answer:
Depending on what level of Educational Technician you want to be certified in, the requirements vary some. For a level one technician, all you will need is a high school diploma or GED. For level 2 this requirement becomes 60 College Credits of approved study in an educationally related field. Lastly, for level 3 you will need 90 College Credits of approved study in an educationally related field. No matter what route you choose, all applications are completed online through the Maine Educator Information System (MEIS). In order to apply, you will need the endorsement code found under "Certification Requirements". You will also need to send any relevant transcripts if you have not already, and they must be in PDF format. You can also send other documentation you might need as long as they are also in PDF format.
To apply for your Education Technician certificate there is an initial application fee of $25. It then costs another $25 to renew the application.
