The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) does not offer early action for applicants applying for freshman admission. Applicants can start preparing their applications as soon as August 1, when the application becomes available. The application can be submitted from October 1 through November 30. November 30 is the final day UC Davis will accept applications for freshman admission.

Students interested in applying to UC Davis should submit the UC application online and be sure to indicate that they want to apply for the Davis campus. A $70 application fee is required.

UC Davis requires that applicants have completed, or are on their way to completing, the following high school courses:

  • History/social science (2 years)
  • English (or language of instruction) (4 years)
  • Mathematics (3 years--4 years recommended)
  • Laboratory science (2 years--3 years recommended)
  • Language other than English (2 years-- 3 years recommended)
  • Visual and performing arts (1 year)
  • College preparatory elective (1 year)

Students who are residents of California must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.40. Applicants are not required to submit standardized test scores through Fall 2024. Students may submit SAT or ACT scores if they want to.
