No, the University of California San Diego does not use the Common Application for admitting students. UC San Diego uses the UC Application or the University of California Application to let applicants apply. All the nine colleges under the University of California have the same process of admitting students through the UC Application. All the colleges which are under the University of California use the UC Application for letting the applicants apply to the colleges. Some of those colleges are UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Merced.

UC San Diego does not require or want any letters of recommendation for admission. After applying on the UC Application, applicants will need to rank the UC San Diego colleges on their UC Application. The university has also suspended submitting the test scores until the fall 2024 session. UC San Diego offers graduate, undergraduate and professional degree courses. Some of its famous major programs are History, Italian Studies, Philosophy, Visual Arts, Neurobiology, Data Science, Structural Engineering, etc.
