As a regional university, Grand Canyon University allows students to transfer credits for previous coursework done at any similarly accredited university. Western Governor's University meets that standard, so its students can get their transcripts evaluated by GCU's own appraisal service available online. GCU asks that students maintain a grade of C for their transcripts to be evaluated for undergraduate credit. Meanwhile, graduate students need a minimum grade of B for the purpose. Undergraduate students can transfer at most 90 credits.
In addition to college credits, GCU also allows several alternative credit transfer pathways. Students may choose to meet the graduation requirement using credits from advanced placement courses with a score of 3 or above. These add a variable number of credits towards equivalent courses that are available at the university. Apart from CLEP and IB credits, GCU also accepts credit from Excelsior, Berlitz, DSST, American Council on Education (ACE), National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRs), etc. Students may find a full list of accepted examinations and credit transfer courses on the Policy Handbook of the university, available on its website.
