It's a bit difficult to answer this question in a straightforward way, but I'll try to get right to the point: Amazon does pay for employees to get an MBA or an executive MBA in very specific situations.

With that said, by no means should an employee expect Amazon, or any other company to pay for their education. When they decide to do things like this, its very situation specific and the individuals they choose for these things generally have been with the company a long time and are Amazon's best bet at getting highly educated help with as many years experience within the company.

At the end of the day, Amazon, and many other businesses will hire someone who already has an MBA or executive MBA before they decide to pay for one of their employees. When employees do have their education paid for like this, it really has much more to do with circumstance and plain old luck of the draw more than anything else.

It would be much more likely that a small business or even a growing startup would pay for your education than a large company like Amazon.
