Can I teach Zumba without certification?
Question:
Can I teach Zumba without certification?
Perfect School Search
Answer:
Becoming a Zumba instructor is similar to the path of being a personal trainer and does typically require formal education and certification. Because you would most likely be employed by a fitness facility of some sort, these businesses will have education and certification requirements that they will expect in order to consider you for hire. An associate's or bachelor's degree in personal training or a related field would be the foundation that could then lead to a certification. Other fields that would be comparable include exercise science, physical education, kinesiology, etc. Certification in Zumba is preferred by most hiring managers, so it would be best to obtain certification in one of the Zumba specialties, including Zumba Kids, Zumba Step, Aqua Zumba, and others. These certifications are proof that you have the knowledge and have demonstrated competence and proficiency in the skills necessary to instruct these classes, which is what employers will be looking for in a potential candidate.
