CAD School Option in Las Vegas, NV
Computer-aided design (CAD), as well as computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), involves the use of software programs like AutoCAD and Solid Works to render the 2-D and 3-D drawings used in architecture, construction and engineering. The College of Southern Nevada (CSN), located 11.8 miles from the downtown, is the only nonprofit CAD design school in Las Vegas. Although this school doesn't offer a degree in the field, courses for its CADD certificate program are held at the Western Center, one of multiple campus locations. College of Southern Nevada (CSN)
As the largest school in the state, the College of Southern Nevada offers over 180 certificate and degree programs. While others programs at CSN, such as architectural design technology, include coursework in computer aided drafting, only one program is specifically designed to focus primarily on related technology.
Certificate of Achievement in CADD Technology
This 30-35 credit certificate program prepares students to create and read construction documents. It requires 27 core credits of coursework in CAD technology, math and digital literacy. Topics include basic drafting techniques, parametric design and systems management. A CAD capstone project is also required.
