About Bountiful, Utah

Situated at an elevation of 4,408 feet, Bountiful is located in Davis County, a suburb nine miles north of Salt Lake City. The population of Bountiful is 45,438, according to 2021 U.S. census data, and according to 2021 data, most residents, 92.6%, were white.

About 47.6% of the population 25 years of age and older have bachelor's degrees, which is higher than the state rate of 34.7%, based on 2016-2020 census data. The city's median household income for that same period, $83,660, is also higher than the state median income of $74,197.

Bountiful has a historical museum and an arts center, as well as a recreation center. There are 51 different ski resorts within about a 30-mile radius of the city, and Davis County has more than 500 miles of trails for residents to explore.

Nearby Salt Lake City is probably best known for its Mormon community, and there are several exhibitions in the area that chart religious history.

Educational Opportunities

Residents of Bountiful can find 32 public, private not-for-profit and private for profit postsecondary institutions within 25 miles of the city, including Davis Applied Technology College, Westminster College and Latter-day Saints Business College.

The University of Utah, in Salt Lake, is a large public school that was ranked 48th among public schools in the country in 2022, according to U.S. News & World Report. A research university, it offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees to about 34,000 students.

The largest school within 15 miles of Bountiful is Western Governors University, which only offers distance education programs to its 150,116 students.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on non-agricultural employment by industry in the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Davis County, which in turn includes Bountiful. According to data for 2021, roughly 35,000 people are employed in office and administrative support occupations, about 23,000 were employed in production occupations, and another 22,000 in sales and related occupations. Transportation and material moving occupations follow at roughly 20,000.
