The only schools to offer programs specifically in accounting within a 10-mile radius of Sacramento are for-profit institutes; however, there are additional public schools that offer programs in business administration that include accounting coursework or concentrations. California State University, Sacramento serves a culturally diverse population of more than 32,500 students and has a student-to-faculty ratio of 25 to 1. The university has more than 100 degree programs offered across seven colleges. Its accounting offerings are part of the business administration program, which is provided through the College of Business Administration.
Students at SAC can earn an online master's degree in accountancy or choose from two undergraduate business degree programs with accounting concentrations. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program has a total of twelve concentrations options, including accountancy and accounting information systems. Courses in the accounting concentration address general accounting and specialized areas, such as international, non-profit and management accounting. The accounting information systems track largely addresses and serves as preparation for auditing. The Master of Science in Accountancy is an online program designed for those preparing for the CPA exam or wishing to enhance their careers.
